This website was built exclusively to share the knowledge on the naturally existing antiviral compounds of Indian medicinal plants obtained from diverse scientific literature resources. Indian medicinal plants are well known for their higher medicinal values and the phytochemical compounds have been gaining momentum during the last few years as they show promising therapeutic effect against a wide spectrum of diseases like cancers, diabetes, cardiac disease, microbial infections and other medical disorders. In particular, the bioactive compounds in the medicinal plants of Indian origin highly sought after due its potential inhibitory effects.

While conducting research on the development of novel therapeutic agents against various medical conditions like viral infections, researchers do not have a one-stop resource for finding all the relevant information of the compounds. Although several Indian medicinal plant databases are available, no resources is available on Indian antiviral phytochemical compounds. Hence, this database was developed with a vision of providing comprehensive information about the structure, nomenclature, source plant with Indian origin, molecular descriptors, overview of the inhibitory effects against viral infections and druglikeness properties of the phytochemical compounds, on a single integrated platform. This knowledgebase will be a tremendous source for the biomedical researchers to drive their molecular modeling and other in silico studies towards the identification of effective antiviral drug candidates and antiviral drug discovery process.
